A family's story

Mopey Monday

I am just a malcontent today….mostly because I am STILL sick. Whuck is up with this?? I just can’t shake the runny nose, cough, and sinus pressure.  As I hacked away like Typhoid Mary over here, Hubz put on a hazmat suit his patience and told me to go see a doctor. I fought it all weekend, but when I woke up and still felt like crap, I conceded that I needed to go.

I decided that the clinic at Walgreens was a better bet than trying to get into my doctor’s office today. Everyone else had the same idea. I got there relatively early and signed in…I was the only one there–score! Um,  not so much…did you know that you can schedule an appointment at the care clinic? Yeah, me either….so, I waited an hour and 10 minutes. *sigh*

Turns out I have a sinus infection, an irritated throat due to post nasal drip, and an ear infection (and here I thought my body was just evolving to block the noise from Tate’s vacuuming obsession). I am on an antibiotic for 10 days. I need to drink fluids and try to rest. The nurse practitioner almost called for a psych consult when I laughed maniacally at the rest thing. Ha!

Now I know why Tate was so miserable when he had this mess. Poor kid. I know that all I want to do is go lay down and sleep…but as we all know, when you have kids that just doesn’t happen. Boo.

So, that’s what’s new here…hopefully the meds will kick this stuff out of my system and my head will clear from its fog….and I can get back to writing about my children’s shenanigans again…
