A family's story

Sights of Summer

We’ve been busy. For a period that is supposed to be “downtime”, we haven’t slowed down a bit. It’s ok, though….we’re enjoying these summer days, even if they aren’t very “lazy”.

Here are a few pictures of our summer, thus far.

Someone is pretending to urinate. Is it bad that I was excited about this??

Cole got his hair cut. Without his mop-top, I can see just how much he looks like a boy now. No baby left. Sigh…

Jake got a new bike, thanks to my dad. Yes, it has training wheels. Yes he’s almost 9 years old. No, I don’t want to talk about it…more on that another day.

Tate’s farm artwork from the day he went to daycamp by himself. Not bad for a kid who struggles with fine motor, attention, and following directions.

Aqua piggies. Something fun.

Water play fun. Tate LOVES hose time. We give him about a half hour twice a day. He has fun, and our plants get watered. It’s a win-win.

Cole on his digger. A boy and his machine…pure joy!

Have a great weekend…we are busy, with a trip to the zoo planned for today! Enjoying our respite from 90+ degree weather..for the next day or so.

  1. No, that’s not bad of you!! (hee-hee!)
Haircut is adorable & plenty of baby left!!! It’s so cool he got the bike and there is nothing wrong with training wheels at any age to learn. The straws(?) & animals on the barn are pretty well placed without an aide there (& so good to see the kind of coloring I recognize). The aqua is pretty fun looking. Can I have a turn on that digger?!? Toots would go nuts for that!! Is he watering a fire pit there? Great photos- wish we were neighbors! I think both Toots and me would be coming over to ask to play!!

That digger is freaking AWESOME! Do they make that in grown-up size???

And I gotta tell you — those boys? Handsome as all get-out! Look out, mama… there is gonna be trouble in your house when they get to be teenagers!

    • My boys definitely agree with you. Well, not sure if it’s available in grown-up size, but I will cop to a photo out on the interwebz of me on said digger. Gotta love Hubz. 🙂 Thanks…I do think they are fairly handsome.
