A family's story

Wrambling Wednesday

I spent my last hour and a half “whipping up” something in the kitchen. That something?? Treats for Jake’s “Buggy Bakesale”. Oh, the joys of elementary school….

We were asked to bake bug-themed treats. If I had more time (and let’s face it, more motivation) I would have gone all Wonder Woman and done some adorable cake pops or cutesy cookies. But, no. I’m tired, and just not that into it right now. I think I have senioritis…or whatever it is they call the burn-out at the end of the school year when you are head room mom, a religious ed instructor, and somewhat-involved PTO volunteer.

So, here is my masterpiece….I think it will pass. Eh, it’ll have to. It’s due at the school in 30 minutes!

By the way, next time (when Tate does this) I am soooooo outsourcing this project. I saw that some moms just bought the big bakery cookies. Genius!

My Buggy Rice Crispie Treats (dyed green so it is like grass…)

The colorful bugs are those tooth-cracking sugar bombs that are usually on cakes and cupcakes. Mmmm. Dentist trip. The brown ones are Keebler Graham Crackers. Not as colorful, but will suffice.

Bon Appetit!

  1. Cute as a bug? 😉 I know – I couldn’t help it. Looks great to me and I am always hungry! (I would’ve bought the cookies and trust me – the kids would’ve been grateful I stayed out of the kitchen!)
